Advertising and art make Montevideo’s streets colorful. This post is a sample of what we saw riding on the hop on hop off bus and walking the streets of Montevideo.

Church bells are a form of advertising. As we were walking past Constitution Plaza we heard the bells from the Metropolitan Cathedral and, realizing we had never been inside, turned around and went back to the Church. It was built in neo classical style and consecrated in 1804. I particularly liked the altar and lectern which are of a more modern design but fit nicely as part of the whole.
