So, I lived in Sitka since about 1989, till 1998, then again in 2002. I attended Verstovia Elementary, Blatchley Jr. High and Sitka High School, (GO WOLVES!) I now live in some sand pit swampy arm pit of a state called Florida; I still consider Sitka Alaska my home. I confess, I never really listened to KCAW, but with the advent of Facebook and social networking, KCAW has become my lifeline to my home town. You guys are superb in keeping Sitkan’s at home and abroad informed of events throughout the city we all love. Thank you so much for making me and I’m sure many others feel not that far from home.
