I was playing with the panorama feature of my cellphone. When I was loading pictures from The Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Apia I noticed that part way through the load up the pictures appeared pixelated in a way that reminded me of an abstract impressionist painting. I loaded them again and saw the same thing. So I started taking screen shots of the load ins at different stages of reconstructing the pixels. Then I played a little with sharpness and contrast controls and came up with the following. First the original then the abstract impressionist version.
