We had planned a longer cruise on Prinsendam in July-August 2019 but Holland America sold the ship and shifted the cruises to another ship. We loved the Prinsendam and wanted to sail her one more time so we canceled the planned cruises and we booked two shorter cruises back to back. The first was the Celtic Explorer. You can read about that by clicking on the link. The second was the Norwegian Fjords Explorer. It visited 9 ports in Norway and one in Denmark. It was an intensive experience, with 6 different ports in six consecutive days. But we saw a lot of scenery and quite a variety of towns of different sizes and feels. May was good time to travel. The ship was about 170 passengers below capacity. We had remarkably good weather, only one rough day in the Norwegian sea. The North Sea was particularly calm. And while we had rain in Bergen and a trace of late May snow in Geiranger the weather was much better than we could have expected. If you want to look at my blog’s conclusions on the two cruises you can click on Two Cruise Coda. Otherwise you can read my blog in the order of the posts using the links below.
