We have had an incredible run of sunny weather in Sitka this October, and I have spent a lot of time outdoors with my camera. I have thousands of pictures. I would never have been able to afford that much Kodachrome, the digital bonus. It has taken me a lot of time compress the pictures and to winnow them down to a number that I can put on a blog post and still have it load. Here is the first of several gallery posts from this fall.
This post is from the Muskeg on the Connector Trail between Cross Trail and Indian River. The first tranche from the muskeg was during a sucker hole that I got suckered into but in return for getting soaked I had a beautiful rainbow. This time there was no chance of getting anything wet but my feet walking through a muskeg trail..

In a few days I hope post pictures from the same place during a morning frost.

How I love the deep blue sunny skies of autumn! They are even more beautiful with the snow capping the mountains.
Thanks for the gallery of pics.
These are so beautiful, Rich. Once again, thank you for sharing.
