On our third day in Athens, we took a day off from the heat to take a day long cruise around some of the Saronic Islands in the Aegean close to Athens.  We were on the sailboat Angelique, although we were under engine power the whole way.

We visited the islands of Aegina, famous for the temple of Apollo and pistachios,

Agkistri, a pine covered island with beaches,

and we anchored off Moni for swimming and snorkeling. 

We also did some boat watching.  I saw a Soviet era hydrofoil that Kevin identified has having been built in the Republic of Georgia just before the collapse of the Soviet Union.  I have seen these in Albania and along the Danube.
