On Friday night we flew out of Anchorage, up Knik Arm and crossed over the Chugach range and Prince William Sound, flying over some of the same glacier we saw a little over a week earlier on the 26 Glacier Cruise. Then over the Columbia Glacier, the Malaspina Glacier, the largest piedmont glacier in the world. The glacier is still bigger than Rhode Island although it has shrunk so much since 1980 that it contributed to one half of one percent to the ocean level rise since then. At sunset we were flying over the Brady Icefield that feeds the glaciers in Glacier Bay National Park.
very beautiful pictures!
